Taylor Gordon is an international dancer, teacher, and writer based in NYC. She has performed at Lincoln Center with The Metropolitan Opera Ballet, in 4 seasons of The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Off-Broadway and national tour of Angelina Ballerina The Musical, at The Kennedy Center & Carnegie Hall, internationally as a dance captain & resident director with Spirit Productions, TUI Cruises, & Cirque Le Masque, at Jacob’s Pillow, and Dance Theater Workshop, and with numerous ballet & contemporary companies in NYC like Exit12 Dance Company. The New York Times wrote, “on that big stage, Ms. Gordon does indeed seem a star,” referring to Radio City Music Hall in a full page Sunday Arts feature. She trained at Boston Ballet, The Rock School, and Ballet Academy East and spent summers with Twyla Tharp, Complexions, ABT, & Miami City Ballet. An AGMA and AGVA member, she has appeared on television in a principal role in a commercial on Time Warner Cable NYC, on PBS Great Performance at the Met Live in HD, MTV’s “Made,” and The Today Show. She has been featured on CNN, NBC, Fox News, ABC, CBS, Dance Magazine, Vanity Fair Online, The Huffington Post, Dance Spirit, and The Times of India.
Taylor received a BA in Communication Arts and a Master’s Degree in Publishing by age 20. Her certifications include full Pilates apparatus & mat, 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, American Council on Exercise Functional Training Specialist, Senior Fitness Specialist & Group Fitness Instructor, and TEFL. Taylor teaches in NYC at Pilates on Fifth, Crunch, The Pilates Movement, The Mercedes Club, and the United Nations Ballet Club, and her workout videos are available on Amazon. In 2020 she founded Tailored Movement NYC for virtual classes. She has guest taught in Japan, China, India, Bali, and across the US. Taylor has interned at The New Yorker and written for publications including Pointe and MGM Las Vegas Hotel "M" Magazine. Taylor writes freelance for numerous publications and websites. She has interned at four magazines, including Pointe Magazine and The New Yorker. She earned a Master's Degree in Publishing and a BA degree in Communication Arts by age 20. She currently creates content for Veterans Advantage.
Her dance and fitness writing has appeared in Dance Teacher, Pointe, Dance Spirit, movmnt, Dancer Magazine, Quick & Simple, Milford Daily News, Montage Magazine, M Life Magazine (Las Vegas), The Monitor, The C-Magazine, ExploreDance.com, OffOffOnline.com, CastingNewYork.com, and other publications.
She spent three years as a publicity/office assistant at The Marino Organization. She has been an editorial & publicity consultant (everything from e-newsletters to web design) for numerous small dance companies and individual artists including Kat Wildish, Cornfield Dance, Exit 12 Dance Company, Ballet Academy East, Irini Res, and Judi Mark. She was the Features Editor of her college paper, The Monitor, and a contributor to the college magazine. She completed a Writing on Dance workshop at Dance Theater Workshop with New York Times critic Claudia La Rocco in May 2008 and was a member of the Dance Critics Association. She has also taught Dance History.

Taylor has over a decade of teaching experience in NYC and around the world with students ages 3-88. Her certifications are listed above. She also has training in Zumba, Masala Bhangra, AxleCore, CoreAlign, and SilkSuspension. As a dancer instructor, Taylor has taught ballet, jazz, and musical theater in Japan, Bali, and all across the US. She created a musical theater summer camp in Shanghai, China and introduced a different culture to classical ballet with 3 visits to Hyderabad, India.
Taylor launched her virtual fitness business Tailored Movement NYC in 2020, teaching virtual ballet, Pilates, yoga, stretch, and barre classes to students all over the world. She currently teaches in NYC for The United Nations Ballet Club, The Pilates Movement, Pilates on Fifth, Crunch Fitness, The Mercedes Club, and Plus One corporate fitness. Her workout videos are available on Amazon.
She has assisted choreographer Jeremy McQueen in setting work on students at The American Ballet Theatre JKO School and The Ailey School and has substituted at Peridance and Gibney Dance. She spent 4 years on faculty of Third Street Music School and was a teaching assistant at Ballet Academy East NYC. Taylor has staged classical repertoire as assistant to master teacher Kat Wildish for the Performing in NY Showcase, for which she is Associate Director. She has also taught Dance History at the high school level for he School for Young Performers and the Ballet4Adults Certification Program.
