Dancer

Taylor Gordon (AGMA/AGVA) has been a professional dancer in NYC for 15 years, where she has performed on some of the biggest stages of the dance world. Carving her own path as a freelancer, she works with a variety of companies and shows in effort to land as much stage time as possible. Her extensive ballet background has led to work in classical, contemporary, commercial, modern, and musical theater genres as well as experience as a choreographer and director. 

 

Before COVID-19, Taylor was dancing off-Broadway for the second time in "Angelina Ballerina, The Musical" at Soho Playhouse in NYC. Last fall, she performed as the dance captain of "Christmas Wonderland" in Tokyo and was the resident director for the show in Reno, NV. Taylor has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center with The Metropolitan Opera Ballet, The Kennedy Center & Jacob's Pillow with The Black Iris Project, and Radio City Music Hall in 4 seasons of "The Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes." She has done several national and international tours, to places as far as Bali, Shanghai, Tokyo, Manila, and India, including dancing for TUI Cruises.

 

Taylor trained at Boston Ballet, The Rock School, and Ballet Academy East NYC and has danced with Exit 12 Dance Company, American Swiss Ballet, Ballet for Young Audiences, and Felice Lesser Dance Theater among other concert companies. She appeared in a commercial for "Unique Pain Medicine," on PBS Great Performance at the Met Live in HD, MTV’s “Made,” The Today Show, and has been featured extensively in the press. Additional training includes summers with Twyla Tharp, Miami City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Complexions, ​Voice with Jan Horvath, Bettina Sheppard (mezzo-soprano), NY Vocal Studio, Jason Gotay, and acting at William Esper Studios (summer),The Barrow Group, and The Growing Studio.

Taylor has also worked as choreographer, assistant, and director across the world. She has assisted choreographer Jeremy McQueen in setting work on students at The American Ballet Theatre JKO School and The Ailey School and has substituted at Peridance and Gibney Dance. She spent 4 years on faculty of Third Street Music School and was a teaching assistant at Ballet Academy East NYC. Taylor has guest taught ballet and musical theater in Japan, China, India, Bali, Florida, New Jersey, and Connecticut and has staged classical repertoire as assistant to master teacher Kat Wildish for the Performing in NY Showcase, for which she is Associate Director. She has also taught Dance History at the high school level for he School for Young Performers and the Ballet4Adults Certification Program.
